NewsletterJanuary 2003

Tram News.

A meeting called by the Save Ealing's Streets Campaign was held at the Town Hall on 19th November. Over 800 people crammed the main hall, many of them concerned that closures of sections of the Uxbridge Road will divert cars onto Ealing's quieter streets. At the December ECC meeting, it was agreed that we should seek a meeting with Tim Jones, the TfL project manager for an update on the plans.

BBC Greater London Radio will broadcast an hour long progamme about trams at 10.00am on Tuesday 7th January on the Jon Gaunt show. The wavelength is 94.9 FM.

Canal Towpaths

British Waterways no longer require a permit to cycle on towpaths. There are plans for improvements to the towpaths through Ealing. Rick Andrews at LCC is involved, and we'll pass on any news when we have it.
